Glenhaven Called to Bush alight at Lake ParramattaGlenhaven Cat 9 was called to assist NSWFB at Lake Parramatta with Bush alight.On the 10/04/05 Glenhaven was paged to Bush Alight at Lake Parramatta. NSWFB has asked for light vehicle assistance from the Rural Fire Service as their vehicle could not go off-road and the track was deemed to be suited only for a Category 9 or Category 7. Glenhaven 9 responded with a crew of 3, supported by North Rocks 7 and North Rocks 1, and Glenhaven Senior Deputy Captain. The track was given the all clear for heavy tankers after the Glenhaven Crew leader inspected the full track. RFS crew worked on scene to mop up the remainder of the fire, after NSWFB crews had walked the 25 minute track to the fire and contained it with hand tools. Glenhaven 9 and Glenhaven Senior Deputy Captain returned to station after both Glenhaven 9 and North Rocks 1 were out of water. The remainder of the mopping up was left with the North Rocks crews with portable pumps drafting from the lake. |
